We went to the Harrisburg Airport on Tuesday, April 30 to pick up Diane (our daughter), who will be here for a few days before flying to Nashville to be with Heze (their son), Kayla and Stetson for their baby reveal. Jasmine, Anthony and Natalie She spent some of the afternoon and evening with Nate […]
It was a delight to be outside on Wednesday morning, May 1, and take in the beauty of a new day. Our family homestead is less than a quarter of a mile away. As I looked toward the east the woodsy area of our lot looked like it was on fire.
~~~ Sunday evening, April 28 ~~~ We thoroughly enjoyed an evening at East Fairview Church of the Brethren listening to Billy Molls from Wisconsin share his testimony by telling several of his hunting and life adventures. The sold-out audience listened intently and applauded appropriately throughout the evening. The photo on the screen appears to be […]
Our white dogwood tree was pretty this year, producing pretty flowers. I brought a twig inside for a few days. It looked pretty on the windowsill at our kitchen sink. ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
~~~ Tuesday, April 23 ~~~ I love this springtime ritual in the fields in front of our house. It means the cows and other cattle will have some healthy rye inserted into their feeding program.
~~~ Thursday, April 25 ~~~ After visiting our friend Mary at Ephrata Manor (a senior nursing facility) I asked Cerwin if we could check on what I call “The Ephrata Eagle Nest”. Even before getting to the nest we saw one of the residents on a nearby tree. The sun was not in the right […]
Our old azalea bush is exceptionally pretty this year. We have a few smaller ones as well that also are attempting to match it (see background). ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
We had 26 cousins (and spouses) in attendance at Knight and Day Diner, Lititz, PA, on Wednesday, April 24. Probably one of the best attendances we’ve had recently. This time I took the pictures while our cousin Larry offered the prayer. I don’t think anyone noticed that I was taking pictures. Later Cerwin said, “You […]
The weeping cherry blossoms are “over the hill” but the regular flowering tree is in full bloom. The other day when I was outside it was quite breezy, meaning it was snowing pink blossoms. There are pink blossoms everywhere.
A pretty robin at one of our suet feeders. Nice weather brings out neighborhood walkers. ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
~~~ Monday, April 22 ~~~ Internet photo from Blessings of Hope We started Cerwin’s birthday by volunteering at Blessings of Hope – the East Petersburg Warehouse – where we prepared chopped carrots and sweet potatoes for dehydration. These will go into a dehydrated soup mix that will be sent to a variety of places around […]
~~~ Sunday, April 21 ~~~ Deb, Roy, Jeff, Jere and Kristen. We ordered three kinds of stromboli (ham & cheese, barbecued chicken, and cheese steak), plus mozzarella cheese steaks from Two Cousins Restaurant. I served the salad and cheese steaks while the stromboli stayed hot in the oven. Cerwin, Barb, Deb and Roy. Barb opened […]
