No Wifi Tonight
This is the first time I ever posted by using my smart phone. It is a bit cumbersome. 🙂 We are in western Indiana – heading to Hudson, Wisconsin, with a new chapel. The chapel is dirty from driving in some rain. Pictures tomorrow.
Rest in the Lord and be willing to wait for Him. Psalm 37:7 (NLV)

Wednesday, November 20 After a quick motel breakfast we began the final leg of this trip. I love early mornings on the road – about the time the sun is coming up. It’s a great time to take pictures. Like Tuesday, I spent most of the day reading. Though we had a fabulous trip to […]
Tuesday, November 19 We left the hotel in Missouri about 7:45 a.m. – after saying goodbye to some of our new friends. Our first stop was at the slaughter-house where the deer were taken after they were brought in from the field. Cerwin asked them to just remove the meat from the bones. We have a […]
Sunrise outside one of our four hotel windows – we have a corner room.Notice the moon on the large building. That is the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre. We decided to fill our last day with music. After a delicious brunch at Grand Country Buffet, we walked to the other end of the building to […]
Delightful is one of my favorite words, and it is how I felt about meeting my blog friend Janet (for the first time) yesterday! She came to our hotel and asked if it was okay to go to College of the Ozarks for lunch. This college is known as “Hard Work U” because the students […]
How do I limit my many pictures of the day to a sensible amount for my blog? We found our way to the Showboat “Branson Belle” for our scheduled lunch cruise – a bit early. We have learned one thing – that people arrive really early for scheduled programs around here. When we think we are too […]
It is always delightful to see the 198 foot tall cross when we travel through Effingham, Illinois. Enjoying coffee, the scenery, and three hours of Gospel music on Sirius Radio (bluegrass channel) was heavenly. As we talked about the delightful, heavenly morning, we came upon highway that was quite bumpy. I said to Cerwin, “This road reminds […]
It was a good day! This is what happens when you take a picture before there is enough light. I thought it was kind of interesting. We left the house at 5:15 a.m. and enjoyed many sights and sounds through out the day. We enjoyed coffee and homemade cookies – from Deb – during the […]
~~~ Guess what I am going to do? ~~~ Guess what Cerwin is going to do.Oh, we have a lot of other plans, but you will have to wait. Tomorrow night we are having supper with a chaplain and his wife – two states west of here and Tuesday we are having lunch with a […]
Tuesday, September 3 It was a damp, misty morning – following a day of rain. I delighted in the Maine scenery while enjoying my first cup of coffee. It takes just over an hour to get to the bridge that tells us we are leaving Maine and entering New Hampshire. Massachusetts. When traveling home from […]
We went to church with Mark and Diane – Brunswick Church of the Brethren – before joining the Bluegrass Festival. There was a worship service on the beach, but we like to spend some time with our friends at the church in Brunswick. Mark and Diane joined us for the afternoon. They left in the early […]
We planned to get breakfast at the festival, so after parking took the scenic walk to the food area. The tide was high, so the beach looked different from my afternoon walk yesterday. A view of the seating area from the food court – before the music started. Our seats are to the left of […]
Friday, July 19 We drove into a beautiful sunrise on Friday morning – the last day of our 19-day trip. It was good to be back in Pennsylvania and on roads that looked familiar. I liked this pretty field of corn shocks where we stopped for lunch. It was just about 5:00 p.m. when we […]
Thursday, July 18 Cerwin said, “Get a picture of this truck coming up on my left.” He noticed that there were a lot of axles – something we often look for in Michigan, because most states don’t allow that much weight – the reason for so many wheels. What a beautiful, well-kept rig. A windmill […]
Thursday, July 18 The Rochelle, Illinois, area has acres of wind mills. Routes 39 and 80 are popular trucking routes. By this point the busy traffic was making me miss Route 2 in Montana and North Dakota. TFC has received a request to bring a chapel to this area in Gary, Indiana. The leadership team is working on the […]
Wednesday, July 17 We enjoyed a relaxing morning with Judi and K in Wisconsin before preparing to head toward Rochelle, Illinois, for the night. Judi has a nice, well-kept little garden. K wasn’t sure about sitting on my bottom bunk in the truck. But her mom soon had her smiling. This is Reuben and Judi’s […]
Tuesday, July 16 There is a small walking bridge on the other side of the rock. I got this picture of K and Reuben without Reuben knowing I was taking it. Now they know I’m here. Another family picture. This huge rock just seems to “be there” in the middle of fields and homes. When […]
Tuesday, July 16 We left Bob and Doris’ house shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning – first traveling over the dirt road that goes by their house, then again picking up Route 2 to Duluth. We got a glimpse of Lake Superior in Duluth. Don’t miss the “load” on the truck in the foreground. […]
Sunday morning, July 14 Japheth called to ask if I would do a photo shoot of their family before church. Of course I said I would, even though I prefer doing candid camera work, I figured neither of us had anything to lose. 🙂 I will not publish any of the posed shots – Japheth and […]
Saturday, July 13 Photos by Cerwin – using his Nikon Coolpix Preparing to put the boat in Rainy River. They have 120 worms for bait. Cerwin caught a 30″ sturgeon – not large enough to keep. Bob’s sturgeon was 34″ long – also not long enough to keep. A sturgeon must be between 45 and 50 […]
Friday evening, July 12 Bob and Doris’ sons Japheth and Jonathan visit with Cerwin as Jeremiah and Japheth Jr. listen. Bob, Cerwin, and Japheth seem to be discussing something about the truck. So why is Japheth on the garage roof? Because Bob and Doris discovered a bat in the house recently, he was checking where […]
Friday evening, July 12 While Bob and Cerwin were getting things together to go Sturgeon fishing on Saturday, Doris and I prepared for their Friday evening family night – which was planned for our benefit – so we could see their son’s families, and they could visit with us. They also have two daughters – Juanita […]
Friday, July 12 We left Grand Forks, North Dakota, about 6:20 a.m. and continued east on Route 2, which would eventually take us almost by Cerwin’s youngest sister, Doris, and her husband, Bob’s house. We saw many large fields of grain and storage bins in western Minnesota. One consistent thing on this entire trip was pretty, roadside […]
Wednesday, July 10 & Thursday, July 11 9:40 a.m. This was our last goodbye to Helen and Dan as they left to go home and we pulled away from the chapel in the TFC tractor. Cerwin preparing his log for the first part of our trip home. Some of Alberta’s flat land. We “breezed through” the […]
after 19 days on the road. It was a FABULOUS 19 days, but it is still good to be home. There will be many more updates as we travel home from Calgary – July 10-19.
Tuesday, July 9, was one amazing day. There was beauty when we traveled and when we stopped. It was everywhere we looked. On every side of the road. In the morning we each mentioned some things that we wanted to see. For Cerwin and me, it was Lake Louise and treating Dan and Helen to lunch […]
Tuesday, July 9 This is another beautiful place to visit in the Canadian Rockies. If you look closely, you can see people on top of the rock pile in the foreground. My zoom lens will help you better see them. The log jam seems to have been here for a long time. This area has […]
I found some of the posted information around Lake Louise to be quite interesting. We saw a lot of these Clark’s Nutcrackers around Lake Louise. A large stream that was flowing out of Lake Louise. I’ll be back here on Thursday night, as we won’t have internet until then. My next set of pictures will […]
Lake Louise – Part 1 This is a sight I had seen in photographs, but never in person. Helen and Dan The Chateau is a short walk from the familiar scenic area. With my back to the Chateau. Using my zoom lens to see the snow on the mountains. I took a walk through […]
The second part of our day trip was lunch at Stanley Thompson Club House. The last time we were here, it was fall, and the golf course was full of elk. We didn’t expect that to happen this time of year. The waitress said that only happens around New Year and September or October. It was fun to […]
