It began on February 7 and lasted until February 18. Now that I am into the last day of this marathon, I feel a bit like it has been a biblical jubilee and as of today I am in need of a biblical fast. 🙂 I will begin that tomorrow. 🙂 My birthday celebration began at Jere and Kristen’s […]

Wednesday, February 5 It was a bit late (like half a year) but we finally got together on dates – just in time for her half birthday. 🙂 She chose T.J. Rockwell’s. Rhino Fries are a must when taking a grandchild to this restaurant. The menu description says: A Rockwell’s tradition! Put on your seatbelt for this giant […]

A Busy Day

Wednesday, January 29 Our day started by taking a large TFC mailing to the Lititz Post Office. I was delighted to see the mules (Amish farm) as we traveled from the post office to where Cerwin’s mother lives. I haven’t seen them since last fall. Arriving at the retirement community. My view of a sitting area […]

Sunday Evening, January 19 ~ Neffsville Mennonite Church Neffsville, Pennsylvania Mel and Velda posing for pictures. The cake – with lemon filling – was delicious. Monday, January 6 We left Mark and Diane’s home about 7:00 a.m. on a very rainy Monday and dropped Lydia off at Region 10 Technical High School where she is studying for her senior year of high school. After arriving, she learned that school was delayed two hours because of the heavy rain. She used […]

Sunday in Maine

January 5 The weather changed dramatically. We went from zero and below on Saturday to above freezing by the time we went home from church. For church I used the Bible in my Nook, as well as the brand new stylus I bought at Wal-mart on Saturday. I think it is easier to use a real […]

Saturday, January 4. L.L. Bean is a yearly tradition with our first-of-the-year visit to Maine. Before going to Freeport, Diane wanted to stop at this Wild Bird Supply store. She had driven by here many times and thought it would be a store that I would enjoy. I did! It has more bird supplies than I have ever […]

…of going to Elizabeth Nails with Diane. Friday afternoon, January 3 It is a delightful thing to do on a frigid day in Maine. Beautiful Day in Maine After The Snow

Friday, January 3 We woke up to a beautiful winter wonderland on Friday morning. The mobile chicken pen in their back yard. The eight inches on top of the previous twenty-four inches this area had in the past few weeks created some steep snow banks. I would have liked to go outside, but the temptation to […]

Diane made an interesting, delicious breakfast for the first day of the year. We had a large pizza crust in our freezer – leftover from a party – so I brought it along to Maine. Diane covered it with a white sauce, scrambled egg, ham, and cheese mixture. Because everyone was here, they decided to open the […]

We left the house about 5:00 a.m. on December 31 to head north – to spend time with our daughter Diane and our Maine family. Cerwin’s Family Christmas Supper

It has been a tradition for this family to get together on Christmas Day for many years. Cerwin’s dad didn’t think it was Christmas if he didn’t get to see each of his children and grandchildren on this holiday. We continue that tradition in his memory. Each family brought two dishes. My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
