Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner

This year Cerwin and I hosted 15 people for our church’s Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner on Sunday, March 1. Yes, you see 16 plates. Cerwin sat through most of the meal. He always helps when I need him. I sat at the far end of the table after I was finished serving.

I invited six people ahead of time and our granddaughter Jenna (who is on the committee) filled our table with nine people who offered to be guests. We can give guests something to bring. I suggested dessert.

Cerwin and I served dinner rolls, stuffed chicken breasts, gravy, glazed carrots, peas, broccoli salad, pickles and olives.

It is always fun to see who comes. This year it was Elaine Martin, Eric and Colleen Litzenberger and their three children, Bryson, Easton, and Isla. Those are the ones I invited ahead of time.

Elaine is a fairly new widow. I had also invited Heidi Diffenderfer and her four children who is a new and young widow. She called on Saturday to say one of her boys was very sick with a flu. Thus, I invited the Litzenberger’s to fill up our table.

Colleen gave us these beautiful tulips. Elaine brought some of her delicious homemade peanut brittle for after lunch.

Sam Cassel brought me a perpetual calendar that belonged to his wife Miriam who died on May 28, 2025. I treasure that. Kervin and Darlene Miller and her mother Lois Keller came with carrot cake for dessert. Dustin and Gloria Martin and their two girls Maria and Olivia brought a cherry cheesecake dessert.

Janessa Diffenderfer brought this vase of beautiful flowers (she is a florist) and gluten free chocolate cake for dessert.

We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
