Friday Evening, February 27

This time we were celebrating Donovan and Abby’s 2026 birthdays. These two families enjoy being together, and it worked out for them to come the same evening. Left to right: Jazzy, Anthony, Renee, Nathaniel, Abby, Garth (hidden), Bennett, Natalie, Waylon, Sierra, Diana, and Cerwin.

Nate and Abby’s family on the right – except Natalie who is between the boys on the left. Bennett and Natalie had become best friends in the first few minutes and wanted to sit together. I love that. Natalie loves to cross her eyes when I take a picture and managed to do that again. π

Everyone enjoying eating their orders from Two Cousins – a variety of pizzas, cheese steak, BBQ chicken sub, and fettuccini.

Pizza that was left after the first serving. Most of it was gone by the end of the meal.

While the adults visited, the children had fun with our toys and coloring table. At one point they had a running contest – from the garage through the laundry and back to the garage from the kitchen. It was cute to watch Sierra and Garth join them. They made one trip through the house by the time the others had made three trips.
At one point it became very quiet, so I went to investigate what they were doing. They were all sitting on the kid’s room couch giggling. Anthony had “arrested” them and put them in “jail”. I never did learn what they did. Maybe it was speeding. π I noticed that the bathroom light was on so went in to turn it off and found Renee on the sink playing with small plastic cups. She said she needed a drink. π I put her in “jail” with the others and turned off the light. Hoping a dark room wouldn’t look inviting for the little ones.
Just as I was preparing to go back to the garage with the adults, Sierra came out of the dark bathroom carrying a bottle of Cerwin’s shampoo! Apparently, she was in our walk-in shower when I turned off the lights. π

After the children were back to running – all with rosy cheeks, I asked Abby and Diana if they would like if I put Paw Patrol on the TV so they could relax before they went home. They liked that idea and the children all squealed with delight at the suggestion. This is how they looked while relaxed. It looks like Natalie and Bennett were still best friends by the end of the evening.
I am incredibly grateful that God allowed me to live to enjoy great grandchildren.
Me too ! We are expecting our second male great grandchild in September. We also have 5 great granddaughters
We are blessed indeed.
