I expect no one in Lancaster County had better pork and sauerkraut than us.

It was the first time Jere tried making it in his smoker – and together we decided it should not be his last!

Jere and Kristen had a small table of guests this time as each of their children – except Jesse who lives at home – were busy. There were six of us; Jere, Kristen, Jesse, Cerwin, me, and Kristen’s nephew Eric.

Following lunch, Eric brought in a container of old pictures and collectables from their family. Kristen was in her glory, not just because of the pictures, but because she is a serious scrapbooker.

I had fun looking through some of the scrapbooks and books that her mom and Eric’s parents had collected. Eric’s dad, Jan, is Kristen’s brother. Both of his parents are deceased, so he enjoyed this time of reminiscing with his Aunt Kristen.

While the rest of us relaxed and looked at pictures, Jere finished the cleanup.
