I was asked by her family to take some pictures – especially for their children’s memories. I took a lot but will post only a few here, along with the link to listen to the service yesterday, November 4.

Brenda H. Copenhaver Memorial Service.mp4
It was only 6 months ago that she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

The family entering the sanctuary behind the casket.

The pallbearers getting instructions from the funeral director.

A large group of people went to her burial.

Kyle (Brenda’s son-in-law) and his daughter shoveling dirt on top of the casket.

I understand that about 600 people were served at the funeral meal. Some were in the fellowship hall – where the meal was served. The others were in a tent just outside the fellowship hall.

We have known Brenda since she was born and began to really know her when she was in the youth group when we were advisors.
Through the years, we always smiled about her answer to a questionnaire we had for the youth group in those days. In answer to what she wanted to be doing in the future. She knew she didn’t want to marry a preacher, but maybe a cowboy. We often told her that Ron (her preacher husband) was as close to a cowboy as she could marry in our area of the country. Ron reminded me of that when we went through the visitation line on Monday. 🙂
