Tuesday Morning in Maine and Traveling Home

Tuesday, October 28 and Wednesday, October 29

Tuesday morning – After Mark went to work – Diane took us on a local drive to see where some of the people live who attend the Wales Brethren Church

We especially wanted to see where Jim and Melinda’s family live. They bought a large woodland property where each family built their own house. What fun to see their individual house designs.

As we were leaving the property, we enjoyed seeing these beautiful, white, feathery grass plumes.

They looked especially pretty with the red berries in the background.

Before going home, we stopped at this unique coffee shop – a favorite of Diane’s.

We each chose delicious sandwiches. Cerwin and I also had hot chocolate, and I think Diane had a latte.

The desserts looked delicious, but we turned down the temptation.

As we approached Mark and Diane’s we decided to drive up the hill behind their house to check if we could see Mount Washington in New Hampshire. It is in the center of the picture behind the trees.

It was a bit more distinctive as we moved along the road.

It was our goal to be on the road toward home about 1 pm – and I think we were. Our destination for Tuesday evening was Sturbridge – about 3 1/2 hours away. We had a nice clean motel and enjoyed supper at a nearby Cracker Barrel.

We enjoyed more beautiful scenery as we traveled from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania.

I love the scenery on trips and vacations.

But it is always good to be home. We were home by 2 pm.
