Brethren Disaster Relief Auction

~~~
Friday, September 26 & Saturday 27
Lebanon Expo Center, Lebanon, PA
~~~

I was able to attend this event on Friday and get a few pictures. (We had other plans for Saturday.)

I started in the produce section.

After leaving the produce section, I checked out the baked goods and never thought about taking pictures – probably because I was intent on finding a few things to purchase. I bought 3 filled donuts (we had an overnight guest), 2 long johns, and an apple dumpling. I also bought a quart of ham and bean soup from the kitchen area – then took those things to the car so I didn’t have to carry them with me.

The silent auction was in the same building (West Hall) at the produce and baked items.

There were lots of items. I took only a few pictures.

To purchase items at the silent auction, you sign your name and a price you are willing to pay. After that someone else can sign their name and bid higher. So, it goes until the close of the auction. The person with the highest bid gets the item.

After leaving the silent auction, I headed for the French fry stand where I purchased my breakfast. 🙂

I enjoyed my fries and lemonade while watching the Heifer Auction.

Heifers are donated by local farmers and purchased by local farmers. Most, but not all, heifers are pregnant with their first calf.

There were some with very good pedigrees.

Waiting for their turn to be sold.

After finishing my French fries, I went to the next building (Brightbill) to check out the craft show.

Our friend Wilbur Hosler had a beautiful display of bowls he created.

The children enjoy this area. It is also a great place to buy Christmas gifts.

Theme baskets are a favorite way of fundraising for this event.

The quilts were my next interest while walking around in the main auction hall.

The featured quilt for 2025.

There were several aisles of beautiful quilts and quilted hanging pieces.

Crazy quilts bring back memories of my Grandma Hershey. She had several of these.

There were so many choices of animals, beautiful items, and delicious food for purchase. Everything benefited Brethren Disaster Relief where help is given to storm-related disasters.
