Our friend, Lanny Millette, Director of Donor Relations, welcomed everyone to the banquet.

Following a delicious meal, Christian Comedian Gordon Douglas, made us laugh until tears were running down our cheeks. He just naturally went from one story to another without stopping. He said he was so skinny when he was a young man that there was only one stripe in his pajamas. 🙂

Following him there were several testimonials from those who are going through the program at Potter’s House or Potter’s House of Ruth. Most of them had gone through very dark times of addiction.

Ryan Baumgardner of Ryan & Friends was the second comedian. He doesn’t take second place to any comedian.

He and his friend Jeffrey had many stories to tell about a few well-known members of the audience, especially Lanny – because almost everyone there knows Lanny.

They added comedy but were very serious about the story of the prodigal son in the Bible.

I haven’t laughed so much in a long time and enjoyed watching those around us as they laughed.

I was most surprised that when Ryan saw us leaving the banquet room, he said, “Hey, guys! It has been a long time since I saw you.” When deciding when it was, he suggested the Sail and Sing Cruise to Nova Scotia. That was ten years ago!
