An Evening in the Garden

This is the first event for the fall and winter months which are being organized by the Ladies Fellowship Committee at White Oak Church.

This is at an Amish farm in our neighborhood and where we go for flower arrangements. I love Lizzie’s flowers.

The registration table was managed by LaWanda and Kim.

We met in the large room where Boyer Run Flowers are arranged. That is LIzzie and a daughter standing in the doorway.

We were each encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the meeting room where we were given instructions for making flower arrangements. We were also asked to bring scissors.

By the time every person was there, there were 90 ladies and girls.

Brieanna welcomed us, shared a devotional, and gave us a few instructions.

Brieanna introducing her mother-in-law Dorinda who works for Boyer Run Flowers.

Dorinda gave us pointers in making flower arrangements before we were “turned loose” in Lizzie’s flower gardens.

Before going to the flower gardens, we were each given a quart jar which included water and a small packet of Floralife (cut flower food).

It was a beautiful evening to be in this large flower garden.

You will notice tiki lights in the front part of the garden near the tables where we created our flower arrangements.

Dalias are a featured flower in this garden.

I captured Amy with her pretty arrangement. She said she was still looking for flowers that matched the other colors she had chosen.

Lizzie and her daughter (right) looking over the flower arrangements. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy our event.

It was fun meeting Kya as she walked through the garden with an armful of flowers. I hadn’t talked to her since she arrived home from a two-year mission term in Cherry Creek, South Dakota.

LaWanda stopped me for a photo of my arrangement.

My great niece Ramona with her flower arrangement.

The sun gave us a beautiful orange glow as we finished collecting flowers.

When our quart jars were arranged with flowers and fillers to our satisfaction, we went back to the meeting room where the committee provided a delicious snack.

It was indeed a delightful evening.
