Gray Catbird

The variety and number of birds at our feeders is always lower during the summer, probably because there are a lot of farms in our area that provide access to a variety of grains.

They are called catbirds because they give a “meeow” call in situations of alarm.

This is the best picture of this set that displays its reddish-brown patch under the base of its tail.

They enjoy the seeds and suet that I put out for our bird friends.
