A New Location for Our Old Patio Chair Set

Today as I was weeding this area, I thought, “This would be a good place for our old patio set.”

I am quite pleased with how well it fit. It looks quite inviting. After getting new patio chairs the other year, we placed this one back in the woodsy area, but it took a lot of care to keep it accessible.

There is a mint tea bed on the right of the chair (left if you’re sitting there). I cut it back to the ground today because it was looking ratty and seedy. It may grow back enough this summer to make another batch of tea.

The dogwood tree was planted in memory of our baby grandson, Elijah. He was born December 1993 and died May 1994 from heart complications. The tree is probably 30-31 years old because Elijah would be 32 this year.

This is probably why Cerwin agreed so quickly to move the chair. He often has to think about my ideas for a day or two. 🙂
