Potter’s House Pig Roast and Graduation Celebration

Saturday, June 14

We arrived about 11 am, the beginning of the pork roast meal and music program.

Our friend Sam (left) was waiting for us. This is the place where the men live as they go through a program to follow Christ instead of their addictions. The women were here for the celebration as well. However, they live in The House of Ruth at another location.

The meal and program were down the hill, next to the creek. It was a cool, sometimes rainy afternoon.

We enjoyed the music by Pete and Janelle Weaver.

I loved their unique voices and style of gospel music.

The meal serving line.

Our friends Faye and Ken Stoner were at the end of the serving line when I took this photo. We enjoyed visiting with them for a while – until they had to leave for another event.

The baked beans, pulled pork with BBQ sauce, coleslaw, chips or soft pretzel, plus a dessert was delicious. This person chose to have the coleslaw in her sandwich.

I would have liked to stay to witness the graduations and baptisms, but because of the damp coolness, Cerwin didn’t think his arthritis would improve if we stayed, and I woke up with a scratchy throat, so we left after visiting with friends and enjoying the music.

We enjoy coming to this program and seeing men and women who have been set free from addictions.
