The Brethren Community Chorus Presents “The Attributes of God”

White Oak Church was honored to host the 126-member Brethren Community Chorus on Sunday morning, June 8.

Jon Cassel, our Elder-in-Charge, welcomed everyone and introduced us to the chorus and their director.

The main director, Enoch Lowry led the chorus in their first few songs and told us that his idea was to get the Brethren churches in our fellowship together in one spot.

The churches represented: Upton Brethren, Trinity Christian Fellowship, Hades Brethren, Shanks COB, White Oak Church, Heidelberg Brethren, Pleasant View Brethren, Wales Brethren, Sanford Christian Fellowship, and Faith Community.

The chorus members came from Maine and three counties in Pennsylvania: Franklin, Lancaster, and Lebanon.

They sang

Our God is so Big

O Worship the Lord

Behold Our God

Bigger Than any Mountain

Great God of Wonders

A chorus representing Maine, directed by David Sollenberger sang

The Greatest Commands

Same Power

Matt Patches from White Oak led a short devotional while the chorus took a break.

The Lancaster and Lebanon County chorus was led by Josh Diffenderfer.

They sang

Goodness of God

Tomorrow in Your Hand

Kaylie Copenhaver the featured soloist.

Franklin County Chorus directed by Zane Ocker sang

Nothing Ever Can, Nothing Ever Will

He is Worthy

Director Enoch Lowry lead the chorus and congregation in singing I sing the Mighty Power of God.

The chorus closed with two more songs: You Are God Alone and Sing Your Way Home.

Jon Cassel closed the program with meal instructions and prayer.

By this time, the kitchen help had finished their job of putting the entire meal in boxes: Pork barbecue, rolls for the barbecue, chips, macaroni salad, fruit salad, and two cookies. The juice was picked up in a separate area.

One serving line went to the fellowship hall and two lines went to the outside tent.

I understand that 600-650 people were served.

When finished, some of the children went to the back yard to play Gaga Ball and other games while the adults visited.

The chorus was fabulous, and the meal was served very quickly. I don’t think anyone had to wait in a food line very long. Most did not have to wait in line at all.

The service was live streamed. If you would like to listen, comment on this blog, send an email to tfcner@dejazzd.com, or PM me on Facebook. I will give you the website and links.
