One of The Cove’s shuttle buses came for our group about 3:30 pm on Tuesday for easy transportation the Chatlos Chapel about 3/4 a mile away.

It is named Chatlos Chapel because it was donated by the William Chatlos Foundation.

I thought I backed up far enough and got low to the ground so I could capture the entire steeple, but apparently not, because there is no picture of the steeple in my pictures.

This one is from the internet. The top of the steeple is 87 feet above the roofline. Notice the cross at the top.

There is a long stone bench outside the first floor (the museum) of the chapel.

Because I had time before the hymn sing, I took a short tour of the interesting museum.

There are many exhibits.

I was most fascinated by Billy’s traveling pulpit and stood there imagining that Billy stood behind this pulpit many, many times.

It was used because his crusades were broadcast and recorded – sometimes live – and needed to fit into a certain time period so there were lights to keep Billy on schedule.

The green light meant he could keep preaching up to 5 minutes before closing time. The yellow light was a two-minute warning. The blue light meant stop in one minute.

I heard the sound of people gathering in the chapel above me and knew it was time for our 4:00 pm hymn sing with Jeff Bennett.
