Music and Memories Concert

We enjoyed a delightful concert by Bethany (Elva’s daughter), Elva, and their friend Dave.

Many were songs Elva and Dave learned in their growing up years, others were songs she has written.

The evening session closed with a testimony by Cody – a friend and boss to Elva’s son Jon.

Cody did not grow up in a home where he went to church but received Christ into his life through a ministry at school. However, he continued to hang out with the wrong kids and made many bad decisions. There were still big holes in his heart when he married his wife, Kim, but they continued to search for grace and peace, especially following the birth of their first son who died at 3 1/2 months due to a heart deformity.

They were later blessed with two healthy boys. It was during a camping trip with other Christian dads and sons that he was able to forgive the people who hurt him, especially a young man who had humiliated him. Today they are moving forward in their marriage and Christian lives.
