Kristen and I arrived about 12:30 pm so we had time to help if necessary – and take a few pictures.

This is the church where Jared (Jere & Kristen’s son and our grandson) and Yeira attend).

Yeira (right) and her friends were preparing the apple platter when we arrived in the church basement.

Lunch was already set out and ready for the ladies.

Lunch was served promptly at 1:00 pm. Deb, Jana, and Kristen. Our table was the first one to be dismissed.

Our daughter, Deb, future granddaughter Nicole (hers will be the next bridal shower. She is marrying Jared’s brother Ian), and Jana (our granddaughter and sister to Jared and Ian).

While we ate, we worked on the 22-question game about Jared and Yeira.
Questions like:
Where did Jared and Yeira meet? Answer. Fox Meadows Creamery where both worked.
Who was the “boss of who” when they worked together? Answer. Yeira was Jared’s boss.
What was Yeira’s favorite stuffed animal name? Answer. A bear named Piggy.
Where was Jared and Yeira’s first date? Answer. Subway.

Notice the cloth and directions in the middle of the table.

A shot of the entire room. There were probably about 40 ladies: family, friends and church friends. Some one did a good job of decorating the poles in the middle of the room.

The girls at the left side of our table were Yeira and her friends and bridal attendants.

After lunch Yeira’s grandma Berkheiser had a short devotional which was very fitting for a new bride and a group of ladies.
As she spoke “life” into the ladies and particularly to Yeira, I was reminded of why we have prayed for each of our children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren – asking God to guide and direct the family who is raising their future spouse. God is faithful!

Yeira’s mother (Jessica), Yeira, and her soon-to-be mother-in-law, Kristen.

I thought this was a rather busy background, so tried another shot.

I did not think to take a close up of Yeira’s Grandma Heisey. She is the one in the center – to the right of the girl with a pink bow.

Yeira is blessed to have a great grandmother still living, the mother of Grandma Heisey, and grandmother of Jessica.

A few decorations.

Gifts

As I was preparing to take the gift table pictures, I caught Yeira eating a cupcake.

Opening gifts.

A beautiful handmade doily.

Jared’s brother Jesse arrived about the time Yeira was opening Kristen’s gift of a First Aid kit. You can tell Kristen is a nurse. Jesse brought a gift that Kristen forgot.
Jesse asked his mom, “What are you ladies doing – just eating food and watching Yeira open gifts?” He didn’t think that sounded very exciting.

This was the gift.

Kristen and her girls – Jana, Nicole, and Yeira.

She and Jere have only one daughter (Jana on the left) and are now delighted to say they have “girls”.

Three generations of girls: Me, Yeira, and Kristen.
It was a delightful bridal shower.
