Thursday Evening, March 13

We are always pleased when it suits us to go to this banquet. We love hearing the updates on what is happening at The Potter’s House and The Potter’s House of Ruth.
The Potter’s House is a safe place for men and women to recover from addiction, to experience Christ-centered discipleship, and embrace their God-given destiny.

This was our table at Shady Maple as people were arriving. On the left Sam Rittenhouse, Earl Sauder, Delmar Martin and his wife Renita who is hidden behind him. Cerwin is on the right.

The buffet-style meal was served shortly after 6:30 pm. My choice of food above: brisket, mixed vegetables, green beans, gourmet potatoes and a dinner roll. There was also barbecued chicken leg and thigh. I did not choose to go to the salad bar. For dessert I chose raspberry cheesecake and vanilla/chocolate ice cream.

Robert Schoonover, the new Executive Director gave the opening speech titled “What God’s Up To” as we finished our meals.

The large room was filled. I didn’t hear how many were there.

A highlight of the evening was “Passing the Baton”, a short program that involved Lloyd Hoover, Founder and Former Executive Director passing a baton to Robert Schoonover, new Executive Director.
We were blessed to hear staff members share their experiences of serving with Potter’s House or Potter’s House of Ruth. There were three student testimonies of how this ministry and Jesus Christ changed and equipped their lives.
