Neighbors Sharing & Caring

A women’s fellowship ministry of Chiques Church – Tuesday, March 4, 9:00 am.

I have know about this ladies ministry for several years, but have never attended. This time I went at the invitation of Cerwin’s sister, Velda, who called the night before because our cousin Audrey was the speaker this week.

The ladies take turns providing the snack. This time it was Velda’s turn. She brought finger Jell-O, raisin cookies and pretzels. There is also water and coffee.

Our cousin Audrey Hull.

The subject for this year’s speakers: TRUST

The Bible verse: Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5

Audrey’s subject: Trusting God Through the Trials of Life

Our confidence in God can be shaken when all around us the ground we stand on is moving out from under us. Our faith is tested. Do we really believe that God is who He says He is? How do we know who He is? And can He be trusted?

Notes from her message:

Trust is easy when things are going well

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7.

This verse reminds us that we are not the source of our strength.

Trusting in the Lord with all our heart and leaning not on our own understanding means, we trust God to sort it out.

We all have times when we are shaken to the core. To illustrate this, She shared about the death of her nephew Bryan who died during a silo collapse last summer. It happened on the Lebanon County farm where Audrey and her siblings grew up. Bryan, his wife and boys were working the farm. The experience shook their family to the core and tested their faith and trust in God.

When we trust God we are learning to rest.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous run into it, and is safe. Proverbs 18:10

Trusting God is knowing that “Jesus is enough”.

Jesus says, walk with me.

I want to do this life with you.
