What fun to prepare for 12 guests and not know who was coming.
All we knew was that there was one couple, a single woman, and two families with 5 children under 5. I did know that the youngest was just a few months old, so prepared a baby seat for him. However, he slept through lunch.

From the opposite end of the table.
I don’t usually take pictures of non-family members because I am not sure if they are okay with being on social media.
Our guests were Jim and Faye Myer, Kim Mowen, Matt and Briana Patches and their children Adelaide, Declan, and Charlton (the baby), plus Joel and Amber Hoover and their children Marie and Andre.
I served stuffed Chicken Breasts, Candied Sweet Potato Patties, Corn, and Broccoli Salad. Kim brought wheat thins to go with my appetizer juice (grape/ginger ale), Faye brought a veggie/relish platter, Amber brought fresh fruit salad and Briana brought chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Everything tasted so good.
We had a delightful afternoon with the great mix of people the committee chose for us. Being in the garage was nice because the children could play with the toys in the back part of the room.
Jim and Matt are both preachers at White Oak. Jim one of the oldest (now retired) and Matt the newest. We have known Jim and Faye for a long time because we were in the youth group together more than 60 years ago. Matt is our newest preacher and preached on Sunday morning. I was especially pleased to have Joel and Amber here because they are relatively new at White Oak, and we had been wanting to get to know them better. Kim is a public school teacher (Home Ec.). It was good to hear about her days.

There were a dozen or more bouquets available for a donation following worship services on Sunday morning. We thought this added a bit of beauty to our garage.
