For some reason I became fascinated with the bare trees that line our Pennsylvania landscape right now.
It happens every fall and winter when the dying leaves can no longer resist gravity and wind.
They are a reminder of the seasons on our yearly calendars, also the seasons of our life.
Each of us have times when we are in the “bare tree” season – when there is pain and discouragement – or when we feel a lack of hope because our life seems to be laid bare due to the winds of unkind words and gossip.
Somehow, we know this season will not last forever – it just seems like that sometimes.
There is something about bare trees that I enjoy. It’s when we can see every branch and twig.
When I look at these bare branches, I feel kind of nostalgic as I wait for the pretty green leaves to return – and they will.
