I woke up early on Christmas Eve morning and wondered why I was hearing farm vehicles in the field next to our yard.
It was a cold morning and great for hauling manure.
Many of our farm workers are immigrants – they will do the work that others will not, and they are essential for such tasks as picking low fruits and veggies that must be done by hand. I don’t think they work at night so much, though, , as it’s difficult to see what they are picking then! It’s interesting to see how industrious the farmers are, even spreading manure by machne and at night!
Since we are surrounded by farms, I am always aware of their long, hard work.
