Anthony, Diane and Cerwin
Diane hears about our time at Blessings of Hope, and asked if we could volunteer on a day when she is here. She is now listed as an official volunteer – from Maine. 🙂 Now all she had to do is have her card scanned when she is in Pennsylvania.
On the way to Leola, Anthony mentioned that he hopes our job involves a scoop. He likes that better than going through vegetables or fruit. He got his wish. We bagged rice all morning.
We bagged white rice. There were a few other varieties that were being done at other tables.
I put pre-printed labels on the bags and had time to fill a few bags. Diane put the bags in the banana boxes at the far end then put the box on a conveyer belt to be processed in another room.
After finishing – about 11 am – we went to Knight and Day Diner for lunch. From there Diane and Anthony went shopping at the Blessings store in Lancaster. Anthony was excited to shop for his mom (with Grammy’s assistance) and Diane was pleased to use her own voucher instead of one of ours. Cerwin and I went to Costco and a few other places before going home.
