Yes — we get some frost for about 2-3 weeks , often just after a bout with brushfires. It’s mostly on the roofs of homes, but some in agricultural areas. They protect citrus orchards with ‘smudge pots,’ which blow smoke over the orchard, or with misters, which spray water that freezes and protects the fruit from temps lower than 32 degrees. Once the rains start, usually in late December or early January, it doesn’t get cold enough for frost to form.
We’ve had frost o;n the roofs for the last few days! Our ‘winter’ is n the way!
