A Busy Day in Our Neighborhood

It was shortly after noon when I heard the corn harvester in the field next to our yard.

Before long the smaller corn harvester head was dropped and exchanged for a larger one for harvesting soybeans across the road. Notice the small harvester head in the field and the trailer which brought the larger head.

The larger soybean head.

While all that was going on, Cerwin was using his “redneck” leaf catcher for the first time this year.

Emptying soybeans into the trailer.

When the soybean field was finished, the soybean head was placed on the trailer and the harvester picked up the smaller corn head.

By 5:30 pm both fields were empty of crops, and we again have a view of our neighborhood to the east and south.

A short time later the soybean field was already being planted with a winter cover crop.

The sunset was pretty as he continued the planting.
