October 22
These two Shagbark Hickory trees seem to be the highlight of our woodlot each fall because they stand tall and together in the front of our yard, while many others are just as pretty, but they are a mix of many trees that stand next to or behind our house.

I took a picture each morning this week to watch them change to full peak in their orange/yellow colors.

October 24 – Evening
Even in the evening they outshine the others.

October 25
When I looked at them this morning, with all the leaves on the ground, I have a feeling they reached peak yesterday. It will be sad to watch them brown, but it happens every year. Then before long, their branches will be bare, but as happens every spring, there will be a new cycle when they will again be green with new life.
