Friday Evening, August 23
This year we are giving our children and grandchildren a birthday meal from the menu of a local pizza restaurant, and since Roy and Deb live an hour away, and we have more time than they do, we asked them to choose a pizza place near them. They chose Dolce Vita.
This time we were celebrating Deb’s 50th birthday which is coming up in a few days. Barb, Deb, Roy, and Cerwin.
We bought a bouquet of flowers for her from our Amish neighbor Lizzie at Boyer Run Flowers.
Deb shared a stromboli with Barb, Roy had a gyro, and Cerwin a bacon, lettuce and tomato wrap.
I love their Mandarin Apple Salad, which is a mix of Granny Smith Apples, Mandarin Oranges, Cranberries, Walnuts, and topped with Feta Cheese.
Since it was a birthday celebration, we shared a chocolate bomb and a lemon blueberry cake. Both were delicious, but the chocolate bomb was “to die for.” Because I wondered how “to die for” became something we say when something is especially delicious. I checked, but the origin is unknow.
It was a delightful evening.
It was a wonderful night mom and dad. Thank you!
You are welcome. We love spending time with you guys.
A very happy birthday to Deb — congratulations and best wishes for the next 50!
Thanks. She appreciates that.
