Bible School at White Oak Church was held from Monday evening, July 8 through Friday evening, July 12.
These photos are from Thursday evening, July 11.
This year’s theme was “The Great Jungle Journey”, an epic cruise from Genesis to Revelation.
The pulpit area included a water fall and a few other jungle items.
It was fun to watch a large variety of Amazon jungle videos on the big screens as children and adults came into the auditorium.
A few large birds hovered over the sanctuary.
A cute monkey and a slow sloth were part of the front of the church.
Singing began promptly at 7:00 pm.
The clapping songs are always a favorite for the children.
The welcome and opening was conducted by one of the superintendents.
The featured Bible verse was read by a young boy before he led the audience in prayer.
A highlight of the opening part of each evening was a continuing skit about the experiences of these young people as they hiked through the jungle. On this particular evening, they were lost and someone hurt his leg (left). The photo is when they were asking God for direction.
Heading to their individual classrooms.
Following this there was an adult Bible study in the sanctuary.
There was an average attendance of 325 children and adults.
The total offering was divided between five projects: Kya Snyder, North Dakota; Way of Jesus; Teen Central, Manheim; Teen Challenge, Pennsylvania; and The Root Cellar, Maine.
