Each year we have a good spread of food when our extended family gets together at our niece (Amy) and her husband’s (Kevin) place. Every household brings food items they chose from a meal organizer website.
It was a warm day as we met in the old airplane hangar but the breeze was enough to keep us comfortable.
If we could get there across the field that separates our properties, it would probably be half-a-mile to this building. Traveling by road is just over a mile.
Our daughter Deb took this picture of my brother Dale and me visiting. She could have told me to smile. π
It is difficult to keep track of great nieces and nephews, but I think this is Victoria playing with her ice cream.
Hudson drinking his ice cream from a bowl.
Fishing was a popular activity with the younger generation.
This is catch-and-release fishing. I didn’t hear if any fish were caught.
I love going to this picnic and catching up on my siblings and niece’s and nephew’s lives.
Family traditions are special and family gatherings are fun!
For sure.
What a fun picnic with all the family! Is this the pond that was rebuilt last fall? And I didn’t realize you had an old airplane hangar — it’s too small to have been used recently, but I can imagine you and your siblings traveling in its planes as kids!
No, this is not the re-built pond. It is Kevin and Amy’s pond. The rebuilt one belongs to her sister Karen and her husband Larry. The hangar is also on Kevin and Amy’s property. The sisters live on adjoining properties. Only Larry and Karen’s adjoin ours.
