During the past few years, our garden tea has totally taken over the area where we planted it many years ago. It became too much tea for us to deal with, so we purposefully removed most of it, leaving only what is sensible for our use.
We removed as many roots as we could and mulched the rest of the area. During the process we took some tea roots to two granddaughters who wanted some – Diana and Gloria. Notice the light area on the upper right side of the bed?
Yesterday I cut that tea back to almost the bottom of the stalks and made more than two gallons of tea. I froze most of it for our upcoming family picnic and put half-a-gallon in the refrigerator. It won’t be many weeks before I have tea leaves again.
I am enjoying its delightful, minty taste as I post this blog.
