We had 26 cousins (and spouses) in attendance at Knight and Day Diner, Lititz, PA, on Wednesday, April 24. Probably one of the best attendances we’ve had recently.
This time I took the pictures while our cousin Larry offered the prayer.
I don’t think anyone noticed that I was taking pictures. Later Cerwin said, “You forgot to take pictures this time.” He was surprised to learn that I did it during prayer.
Many of the younger ones are still employed and cannot attend, a few have health issues which kept them from coming, and we have several who live in other states, making distance the reason they cannot come.
We treasure these cousin times – which actually started many years ago when a few cousins wanted their parents (who were siblings) to get together when age kept them from driving and seeing each other very often. Gradually it became quarterly, and more and more cousins were notified.
That’s a great way to keep in touch. My cousins are spread across 3 continents, so this type of gathering would be almost impossible!
There was a time when at least two cousins lived in other continents – Viet Nam and Africa, but I think everyone is back in the states or Canada right now.
