Just recently I have begun to see Western Bluebirds in this area — had only ever seen one before this fall, and now suddenly I’m seeing them by the walking trail where I go 2-3 times a week. The males are beautiful, much like yours, and the females, though a similar size and shape, are gray in color and not distinctive. How beautiflu they are — and I’m glad to see yours as well for comparison!

I don’t see the Eastern Blue Birds too often except in the dead of winter when they need food. They prefer bugs and worms.
