One of the things we wanted to do on the way home from our backroads lunch was check on our local eagle nest. It is also on a backroad, and we were pleased to find one of them at home.

As the eagle flies, this nest is about three miles from our house. I don’t know how long it has been there, but we learned about it from our son Jere a few months ago. This is the first time we saw any of the eagles. The nest is located on an electric structure and not very close to the road, so getting a closeup isn’t possible without walking through the field.
