Kristen always creates interesting table and place settings. We didn’t know what the numbers meant but learned about that later. Each person had two pieces of wrapped chocolate in their box.
Kristen’s mom always had a bouquet of flowers delivered to Kristen for the Christmas meal. After she died, Jere kept up the tradition.
Jere bringing the smoked ham in from the outside smoker.
He repeated this process with a smoked turkey.
The ham.
Jere and Kristen doing the final preparations for lunch.
The left side of the table: Jana, Austin, Jesse, Josh, Bridget, Deb and Barb. Deb’s husband Roy was sick and not able to attend. Remember I told you about the random numbers on our plates. The person who had 25 was the one who was called on to pray for the meal. It happened to be Josh.
The other side of the table. Jeff, Ian, Nicole, Kristen and Jere.
I missed Cerwin, so got him in this shot.
The smoked ham and turkey were DELICIOUS…
…as was the rest of the meal.
I didn’t photograph the dessert items which Deb and I supplied. There were long johns, glazed pretzel donuts, lemon cake roll, small cheesecake squares and an apple pie. We decided that since several people had other meals on the same day – either before or after this one – that we will only have something simple for dessert next year – like cookies.
