When I was looking at the color variety of leaves in our woodlot, I noticed our Cleveland Pear tree had purple leaves.
I don’t think I ever noticed the purple before. However, I did learn that the purple is rather short-lived. I took the pictures on November 11. Today is November 26 and the leaves are brown and dropping from the tree.
Sometimes it is good to stop and look at things closely. It is also the first time that I noticed these tiny pear-like fruits. I checked this online, and it said these are not edible for humans but are enjoyed by birds.

Something to Ponder
~~~
The purple leaves are unusual — In photos I usually see reds, oranges, and yellows. Do the purple ones blend in so they’re not noticed, or are they just not that common? And it seems unusual to see fruit at this time of year, too — usually trees blossom in the spring for fruit in summer. That’s a really interesting tree!
The fruit is a bit more like a nut and nuts are the thing right now with our trees. I never thought about the purple other years. This year I was spending a bit of time looking closely at the variety of colors on our trees during the peak season.
