We left Mark and Diane’s house shortly after 6 am when it was still dark, but with the promise of a sunrise in the eastern sky.
I love watching the sunrise to our left as we travel south on I-95, but it’s always a challenge to capture photos – with Cerwin driving 60 miles an hour and the sunrise on the driver’s side of the car. 🙂
I was surprised to capture this photo due to a very short space in time to do it.
The sunrise was beautiful.
Our last view of Maine.
Our ten-hour drive was fairly routine – which is always nice. We were pleased to see a few signs of autumn, though not as colorful as the same time last year.
This pretty wheel cover fascinated me. I was not surprised to see that the driver was a woman.
We listened to many Bluegrass and Bluegrass gospel songs on this trip. They were in a folder of CDs that we forgot about until our granddaughter Diana wanted to listen to these songs when we traveled to and from Hannah’s funeral. The folder of CDs was under a seat in our oldest car. Sorry Diana, we now know where it is. 🙂
At a Connecticut rest stop.
We did see an interesting thing here. A prison vehicle stopped to allow their passengers to use an outside port-a-potty. They (a man and a woman) were both handcuffed. We kind of wondered how that works, because they can’t have their handcuffs removed. 🙂 People can surely make their lives humiliating when they start breaking laws.
4 pm. On the last leg of our trip. Just ready to go through the turnpike bridge not far from our house.
At the rest stop: Hmmm….interesting predicament.
I know. Seems like a humiliating situation.
Sounds like a lovely trip. It’s always a challenge to know when the leaves are going to be their prettiest. We’ve had severe drought in our county and the two south and north of us, so the leaves are mostly turning brown and falling without turning color. Or there are patches of color, but nothing full. However, the leaves on the mountains are starting to turn. I think there was more rain on the mountains – especially the east side.
The leaves in our area are just starting to change colors. It will be interesting to see the procedure this year.
