The day opened with cool, damp weather.
Our first stop was at Hannah’s gravesite to see the tombstone that was recently put in place. The photos: sunrise (top) and cows were taken by Hannah at the Bisson farm where she worked.
From there we went to worship at the Wales Brethren Church. It was a blessing to see everyone and listen to a well-presented Sunday school lesson and sermon.
Last year I missed getting anything lobster, so we went to Bailey Island to have lunch at Cook’s Restaurant.
Diane and me. We were pleased to get a table next to a window.
Diane wanted to get a picture of us because she liked the lobster background.
The view outside the restaurant window.
I am always fascinated by sitting next to a large body of water since we live in a land-locked area. This is saltwater and part of the Atlantic Ocean.
My delicious lobster stew.
Diane’s salad. I think Cerwin had his usual hamburger.
There is a note on their menu that says, “Freshly caught. Fresh off the boat lobsters—look out the window… it was caught right here!”
There are buoys everywhere in the bay next to the restaurant telling us there was a lobster trap below.
Cerwin kept his cell phone handy because we were waiting for a video call from our son Jeff whose daughter Gloria and her husband Zach were having a baby reveal at his house. The phone rang as we were leaving the restaurant – perfect timing – and within seconds we saw pink smoke coming from the white pumpkin. We could hear cheers from the large group of people who were in the yard. This baby girl will be our 15th great grandchild.
From there we drove to the end of the island road – Land’s End – where I took a few pictures of the boats.
Mark and Diane’s oldest daughter and their two children stopped in for a visit. In this photo Diane and Elizabeth are looking out the glass doors to the patio.
Three generations. The fourth generation was there too, but I honor Elizabeth’s wish to not post pictures of their children.
It was great to have time to visit them and hear about Nicodemus’ experiences in kindergarten in a nearby Baptist school.
What a beautiful tombstone. I hope Diana is getting along okay and I am sure it helps to have Elizabeth nearby with the children. The Lobster looked so goo!
Diane is doing well. We had a few tears while we were there.
Sorry, I thought it would show my name. This is Jill commenting above.
Nicodemus is in kindergarten already??? Where has the time gone?? I really like Hannah’s headstone. They are doing such attractive things with headstones now.
Thanks, Juanita. There are always updates that mess up things that had been previously saved.
Not sure why my posting has gone back to “Anonymous” again. 🙁 Juanita here.
A beautiful headstone — and a beautiful view of the Maine coastline! I loved that part of Maine — it’s very different than our coastline, but equally beautiful!!
I agree on the headstone and the Maine coastline.
