We left home about 5:45 am – driving through a bit of drizzle. I took this photo about an hour later in the Allentown area. By this time the roads were dry.
By 6:50 am the sky seemed to clear and we saw signs of the sun behind the clouds.
The morning included fog.
We think we found the Lock Ness Monster in the sky.
Through a time of sunshine, we had a few sightings of pretty leaves.
Then it was cloudy and drizzly again.
Crossing the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge (formerly Tappan Zee) in mist and fog.
The weeds that were growing over a sound barrier wall looked kind of pretty with a few fall colors.
We saw a bit of color in Connecticut.
It became dark and cloudier in Massachusetts.
Then, again, there was a time of sunshine.
Our daughter Diane told us that we would be driving into rain as we entered Maine. She was correct.
We arrived at Mark and Diane’s house at 3:15 pm – about 9 1/2 hours after leaving home in the morning. We saw a few minor accidents and thanked the Lord for our safety.
I think you did see the Loch Ness monster. We once had Scottish neighbors wo told us that Loch Ness is extrememely deep and goes to the sea. They seemed to be convinced there is such a creature
🙂
What a moody day — I love these photos, but I’m glad I didn’t have to drive in that rain!
The heaviest rain happened after we got to Maine, so it wasn’t too bad.
Glad you made it safe. Enjoy your stay!
We are always thankful for a safe trip when we go and come from Maine.
