Community Day at Paul B’s

Cerwin wanted to check on something in the store, so we thought it would be a good morning to go to Paul B’s Community Day.

They had a tent that was specifically designed for children.

The corn boxes were quite popular with the youngest children.

The regional police had a vehicle open for display. It is quite interesting to look inside one of these. The policeman was nearby.

The Lincoln Fire Company also had a display. The children loved getting a fireman’s hat. About half an hour later there was a real emergency and the fire trucks and police car left. I think it was an accident with an entrapment – according to the online information.

We stopped at the two Amish food wagons for a peach milk shake, soft pretzel and donut.

I thought I was going to eat most of the pretzel and Cerwin was planning to eat the donut. However, they were not normal sized. They were huge. The pretzel was the size of a dinner plate.

We knew the peach milkshake was fresh, because an Amish lady was busy slicing fresh peaches. Cerwin took the donut home for later and we shared the soft pretzel – taking about 1/4 of it home.

The donut was peanut butter and chocolate covered, so it didn’t even tempt me. I like plain donuts. It was the size of a small plate.

While enjoying part of the soft pretzel and milk shakes at a picnic table, we watched the children playing in the corn boxes.

Our next stop was the new Good’s Store near Akron. We had never been here. What a fun place to spend a $60.00 gift card from our anniversary celebration. Cerwin got a dress shirt, I got a pack of sturdy clothes hangers, bird suet and quite a few boxes of birthday and anniversary cards. I use the cards for birthdays and anniversaries at church – usually putting them in church mailboxes each week (mostly preachers, deacons, and our Sunday School class).

Our last stop was at Zig’s Bakery to spend a $25.00 gift card from our anniversary celebration. We bought a quiche, a loaf of pumpkin bread and two pints of soup.

That was an incredibly fun morning. Who doesn’t like buying more than $90.00 worth of things and only having to hand over about $7.00? 🙂
