10th year benefit pork roast and student graduation – “down by the river!”
We enjoy this special fundraiser event each summer, meeting some of the staff and students, and learning more about The Potter’s House and House of Ruth.
The Potter’s House and House of Ruth are safe places for men and women to recover from addiction and experience Christ-centered discipleship.
Our friend Lanny (deep red shirt) at the donation table.
This was the first year that the tables and afternoon events were down by the Conestoga River.
The table where the pork roast meal was picked up.
The meal on the left was mine. I did not put my pork on a hamburger bun. The one on the right was another person’s choice for his meal. Delicious.
Looking toward the tables with my back to the river. The houses in the background are part of The Potter’s House.
We did not stay for the later events which included a baptism or two in the river and a graduation ceremony for some of the students.
This “weed” flower on the edge of the river looked pretty in the afternoon sunshine.
These pretty reflections tell you that it was a beautiful, sunny afternoon.
