It has been an unusual summer with the death of our granddaughter Hannah and our trip to Belgium, but I was finally able to organize a swimming day at Refreshing Mountain to celebrate our local great-grandchildren’s 2023 birthdays.
In the background you see Abby taking care of their baby Renee, Natalie on a chair, and Cerwin talking to Jenna who is also taking care of Harper.
In the water: Lauree with Emmy and Drake and Jade playing with water “noodles”.
We were disappointed that Diana and their two boys couldn’t come. They were planning to be with us, but Bennett was running a fever and not feeling well. We will try to come up with something else to do with them.
Jade, Drake, Emmy and Lauree. Anthony and Natalie are in the background. We went at 3 pm this year, which turned out to be a nice time because the pool wasn’t very full.
Anthony and Natalie. Last year Jasmine wasn’t sure about the water, this year she loved it.
Cousins: Emmy and Drake
Harper just listened and watched.
Drake
Jenna was pleased that he put his feet in the water. He doesn’t seem to enjoy water this summer.
Jasmine enjoying the water.
Siblings: Anthony and Jasmine
Jasmine, Abby and Natalie. Notice that Natalie’s right hand is in a plastic bag. She had a painful-looking wound on a finger that Abby was trying to keep dry. The finger tangled with a treadmill.

Siblings: Jade and Drake enjoying the water.
Anthony is like a fish and loves being in and under the water.
Lauree, Emmy, Natalie, Abby and Jasmine in the deeper water. Emmy loved “jumping” into the water.
Drake splashing his feet.
Jade enjoys water.
Emmy liked the waterspout pipe.

One from each family: Emmy, Jade and Anthony. Emmy is Nathan and Lauree’s daughter. Jade is Dustan and Jenna’s daughter, and Anthony is Nathaniel and Abby’s son.
Natalie and Jasmine with their mom – Abby.
We were talking about how the children change from one year to another when we take them swimming. Last year Emmy was a baby. This year she is walking all over the place. Lauree had to keep an eye on her, so she didn’t walk away from us.
Cerwin with Harper. He enjoys being on baby duty more than swimming. Renee is in the stroller behind them. I was disappointed to get to the end of these pictures, only to discover that I didn’t have one of Renee.
Cerwin also provided money for each momma to get a snack from the snack shop. Smoothies, soft pretzels and paninis were popular this year.
We loved watching the great-grandchildren playing in the water.
What a fun thing to do with all the great grandchildren — they will enjoy this every year, and have great memories of the swimming days!
It is a great memory-making day for each of us.
