We were only able to attend one night due to other commitments and Hannah’s memorial services in Maine. These pictures are from Tuesday Evening July 11.
The sanctuary had been transformed into a castle. The pulpit was a throne room.
There were stained-glass windows.
Parents or older siblings brought young students to the correctly marked bench – according to age.
Since the theme was God’s armor and the decor was the Middle Ages, there were a few cute jokes or quotes as we waited for the children to arrive.
Gordan was the song leader for the evening.
Cole, one of the superintendents.
Opening devotions and prayer by Landon.
The children’s story was continued from Monday through Friday. Since we only saw the story on Tuesday evening, I cannot tell you the theme of the story. It opened with the King’s daughter – the princess – crying.
She was a really good ‘cryer’. 🙂 Part of her problem was that she had eaten an onion and pretended it was an apple. 🙂
Some of her friends tried to help her solve her problem.
Her dad – the king – was called to the throne room.
The story continued when another young lady entered the room.
After the children and young people went to their rooms, Jon Patches updated the adults and a youth class on his and Amy’s ministry with TeachBeyond in Laos.
My next focus was photographing a few classrooms. The hallways were decorated with drawbridges and knights.
The first class I visited was having a photo session when I arrived. The next class was listening to a story.
It’s difficult for children to focus on a teacher when a lady with a camera enters the room. 🙂
The adult class – Belt of Truth – taught by Ryan was in the sanctuary. When class time was over, the children returned to the sanctuary to learn details about the attendance and offering total and to sing a closing song.
Bible School is always a summer highlight for our congregation.
I am always intrigued by the lengths your congregation goes to to present a theme for Bible School – and other activities, as well – special dinners, etc.
Sorry – I was interrupted when posting my comment — I am not only intrigued but also amazed by the depth of decorations, etc.
I agree. We have some very talented church members. 🙂
