We and our family are still trying to wrap our minds around this.
Our second oldest grandchild died suddenly yesterday while in the hospital (since Sunday evening) for blood clots in her lungs. We are not sure of the details of why the blood clots happened.
It was about 2:48 pm when she replied to my text, asking how she was doing.
Her reply, “I am doing good! They are discharging me currently.”
The next phone message was on a family link – from her mom, our daughter Diane. She and Mark were in the hospital to take her to back to her house near Topsham.
3:12 pm “Pray for Hannah.”
We were all asking what was wrong. Diane replied, “She passed out in the bathroom.”
This was the next series of messages from Diane.
“No pulse.”
“Code blue in the bathroom!”
3:53 pm “Still no pulse.”
3:59 pm “She died.”
Be in special prayer for Mark and Diane and their other five children (Elizabeth, Josiah, Abby, Hezekiah and Lydia) as they process this and deal with all the details of her death. She lived close to Mark and Diane in Maine and visited often.
L.P. Bissons & Sons Inc is also going to miss her as she was a fulltime worker at their dairy farm and store.
So very sorry. Will keep you and your family in prayer and trust God will give you comfort for the ache in your hearts. Blessings, Mary
Thank you.
We are so shocked and saddened to hear of Hannah’s home going. She was one of my “girls” in ’96 -’97 when I helped their family during my year of BVS. I always enjoyed catching up with her. Continuing to pray for all of you…
Thanks for praying.
Oh Doris, I’m so sorry to hear this. Heartbreaking news for your family. Praying now.
Thank you!
Our prayers are with you
We appreciate your prayers.
Such sad news. Our thoughts and prayers are and will be with you in the days ahead.
Thanks for praying for us.
Oh, Doris — I’m so sorry to hear this sad news! I will keep you all in my prayers!
Thanks for remembering our family.
Praying for God’s comfort that only He can give at times like this! So sudden – it’s much harder than expected home going’s.
We appreciate your prayers.
It is so hard to part with a loved one and especially one so young. When my grandson died, I think my heart ached more for his mother, than for him. Praying for you.
I know. When you are the grandparents, you hurt for yourself and for your children. Also for her siblings.
I am sorry for your family’s loss of dear Hannah. Even though your loss is her gain, in that she is with Jesus, it doesn’t make that separation easy. You all will be in our prayers.
Thanks for remembering our family in your prayers.
I’m very sorry to hear this. It is very painful to lose a child or a grandchild. My oldest daughter Abigail died in April 2019 in Costa Rica, where she lived and taught English. In her case it was a motorcycle accident on an outing. Nothing in life prepares you for something like this.
You are correct. Nothing prepares you for the death of a grandchild or child.
