This mockingbird came by for a short visit the other day.
At first I thought it was something other than a mockingbird because of its brown tones, but I read that they can have a variety of color tones.
Also, the afternoon sun may have made it look lighter than its usual gray.
Either way, I appreciated its visit. 🙂
I love mockingbirds! Last summer we had one that sang from around 11:00 pm till 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning! I loved hearing him/her as we didn’t have mockingbirds on our property in Beaverdam. My question is – how do they know what they are going to (or want to?) sing next? Is there a pattern to their repertoire?
I don’t know about their pattern of singing, but I know they sing a lot when trying to attract a mate.
