His Actual Birth Date
~~~
The grand finale of his birthday celebration was taking our children to Ichiban Hibachi Grill.
Jeff, Jere, Kristen, Diane, Cerwin, Me, Deb, Barb (Roy’s mom) and Roy.
The yummy salad
Delicious soup
It was a stormy night which displayed itself inside the restaurant when the electric went off – about 7 times. It was only off for seconds, but each time one of the employees had to light the electronic pilot on each grill – and they probably have a dozen.
Our chef was interesting, talented and enjoyed having fun with us. In this photo he is doing a knife spinning display.
Then he double-checked our orders. When he got to Roy, he said, “Double cheeseburgers for you, correct.” 🙂 Roy looks surprised for a second, but easily caught on. He had ordered salmon and steak/or maybe shrimp.
Next was the fire display.
Then he displayed his raw egg spinning skills – even holding the spatula above Roy’s head.
Beginning the preparations for the fried rice.
I love their fried rice.
Jere was the next to receive one of his tricks.
He only gave Jere a few tablespoons of rice. 🙂 After serving a full amount to the next few people, he went back and gave Jere his full amount.
Electric off again.
Lighting the pilot
Onion volcano
Noodles for Barb. She does not like rice.
The meat: shrimp, salmon, steak and chicken
Electric off again.
Light the pilots again.
Grilling the meat continued.
The electric went off one more time while the meat was grilling.
We had a super great evening and enjoyed a free birthday cheesecake for Cerwin. We each enjoyed a forkful while Cerwin had the rest.
Just to show you that it was still raining when we left the restaurant.
We have the world’s best children and have so much fun with them.
It was such a fun night, it’s a blast being your child and having you as parents. We never know what’s gonna happen when we are all together, but there is always laughs and lots of love.
For sure.
