We have been privileged to see deer and geese from the window of our house in the past few days – then there were hoof prints in a flowerbed.

You may say, “Big deal.” We see deer and geese all the time. However, we rarely see them from our house.

We are wondering if the geese who usually settle in on the homestead pond for making a nest are confused because of the new pond.

They looked pretty in the evening sun.

The other evening, just after dark, we noticed about six deer in the same field, next to our yard. The following day Cerwin discovered hoof prints in the flowerbed in the middle of our driveway.

I’ve always wanted to see deer in our yard. We have been here 54 years and rarely see a deer even though we know they are in the area.

It seems that the local herd is expanding, because it isn’t as unusual to see them near our house the past two years.

I may regret wanting to see them near our house if they begin eating our plants and flowers. 🙂
