We woke to a beautiful dusting of snow on Monday morning.
The morning moon was also bright and beautiful.
I said to Cerwin that our two-hour drive to Sunbury, PA, should be pretty – and it was. However, we were surprised to discover that we had more snow in our area than anywhere else on our northwest drive.
There was a bit of snow along the Susquehanna River (north of Harrisburg) and some morning fog on the river.
As the snow lessened, the sun got higher over the river.
Then we saw snow again.
Two hours later we arrived at the church where we visited with the family of our friend Glenn Gautsch and stayed for the Celebration of Life Service.
Glenn was an active part of TFC Global – Susquehanna Chapter. Cerwin and I don’t remember ever going to a prayer breakfast, picnic or banquet (since 1990) where he and Suzanne didn’t attend.
We didn’t stay for the meal, because the burial was held afterwards, and the meal wasn’t until close to 1 pm. I had to be home by 2:30 for a 3:00 appointment. We stopped at a nearby Bob Evans and were surprised to meet Naomi Peachy – another TFC friend.
The drive home was uneventful and by then most of the snow was gone.
