The last few days have felt like spring, so I went outside to see if there are any signs of things springing up from the ground.
The trees certainly don’t give us signs of spring. I didn’t even find any bursting buds.
The oak trees still have their old leaves from last year, with no signs of new life.
I stirred around in some leaves in the memory garden looking for green sprouts. No success.
The only place I found a small bit of new growth was right next to the house facing south. This is Yarrow (Achillea).
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised because we are only two weeks into winter.
It’s a lovely day here today — after several days of heavy rain storms that will turn into snow as they travel eastward! We’re getting much more rain so far this year than we’ve had by now in any of several previous years. It’s good to see the sun, even if only for one day!
Glad you have gotten rain, but sunshine is always so welcome.
Absolutely!
