Saturday Evening, December 10

At our church Christmas caroling is done by a variety of small groups, Sunday school classes and the youth group. Each group or class receives a list of names and nursing homes to visit and bless with Christmas songs. The lists include those in church who are 80+ which is how we got invited to this delightful evening. (There are special blessings to be married to an “old” guy. 🙂 Others on the list include widows, widowers, ministers, those who had recent health issues and any name given by a church member.
Cerwin and I were on a Sunday school list who blessed their group with a meal and caroling in the church fellowship hall.
The tables were decorated beautifully with things that made us feel like Christmas.
There were hors d’oeuvres when we entered the fellowship hall.
The meal was a taco salad bar. All guests were invited to go first.
This Sunday school class and their children make a fairly large group – and some were missing because of another event.
Following the meal and a time of fellowship, the Sunday school class and their children treated us to beautiful singing. Everyone seated at tables and facing the singers were guests.
Linnea (pink shirt) was in charge of the singing and giving the children their reading assignments. Good job, Linnea.
Some of the children were very serious about their singing. 🙂
Several of the children read the Christmas story from the Bible – which was included on our song sheets.
I didn’t get each of the readers pictures.
My favorite song of the evening.

Thank you, everyone. We felt blessed.
This brought back sweet memories! I still remember how much fun it was to go caroling with you!
Oh, yes. That evening is one of my sweetest memories of caroling because we were at Landis Homes which included Cerwin’s mom and other older friends from our area. Another highlight was when I was a young person and we caroled on the square of Manheim in the snow.
How lovely!
It was lovely.
